Deliverance from Slander

• 7:1 "in You I put my trust" - Psalm 11:1
• 7:2 "tear my soul like a lion" - contrary to the grade school rhyme, words do great harm. James 3:8 Attack of the Monster Tongue
• 7:6 "judgement You have commanded" - 1 Samuel 26:10

• 7:8 "judge me according to my righteousness" - in this particular accusation by "Cush". David depends on God for his righteousness. Psalm 4:1
• 7:10 "my defense is of God" - legal defense. Jesus is our advocate. 1 John 2:1

• 7:12 "if he turn not, He will whet His sword" - judgement is suspended in mercy, but can fall at any time. Psalm 2:12
• 7:14 "travails with iniquity" - James 1:15
• 7:15 "he that digs a pit" - Proverbs 26:27
• 7:16 "return on his own head" - Galatians 6:7
• 7:17 "praise the LORD for His righeousness" - regardless of public slander, David can rest in God's righteous judgement.
