| 1 cup | frozen, fresh, or canned (drained) corn |
| Whisk together in medium bowl: | |
| 1 cup | whole wheat flour |
| 1 cup | corn meal |
| 2 tsp | baking powder |
| 2 heaping tsp | brewers yeast |
| 1 scant tsp salt | |
| Whisk together in small bowl or 2 cup measure: | |
| 1 1/2 cup | skim milk |
| 1 | egg |
| 1/4 cup | oil |
| 1/4 cup | corn syrup |
Heat skillet to 350. Whisk corn with dry ingredients. Add liquid and mix quickly. Do not overmix. Drop by 1/4 cup into skillet. Cook until bubbles appear on top. Turn over and cook on other side until brown and done in the middle.
