Measure and keep ready | |

6+ cups | cripsy rice cereal |
2 cups | rolled oats |
Add to large soup pot over medium heat | |
1 cup | natural peanut butter (just peanuts and maybe salt) |
1 cup | corn syrup |
1 cup | brown sugar |
½ tsp | salt, if not in peanut butter |
Stir peanut candy mixture contantly in bottom of pot until smooth and melted (soft ball stage). Add cereal and mix rapidly before candy stiffens. Spread in 9x13 pan and let cool.
Optional: spread melted chocolate chips on top.
Cut into bars with a large knife. For thinner bars like the store, spread over more area before cooling, or slice bars vertically. (Vertical slicing doesn't work with frosting.)
