We won't know until the exit polls are done from the
election, but it does appear to me that Catholics
might be voting for Bush this year in greater
percentages than in previous years for Bush, Dole, and
Bush.
Of course, this could change if there are new
revelations which come out in the closing days of the
campaign.
Nevertheless, I think Catholics may be holding Kerry
to a higher standard than Gore, Clinton, and Carter,
who might not have known better.
Kerry knows what the Church teaches and should be
expected to do better than Baptists. If he doesn't, at
least some Catholics are not as understanding.
