[Apologetics] Another Example of a False Accusation

A few years before he died, a man accused Cardinal
Bernardin, the Bishop of Chicago, of molesting him
many years in the past.

The accusation, which was denied by the Cardinal, was
covered extensively in the media.

Several months later, the man subsequently admitted he
made up the story.

Priests frequently provide spiritual counseling to
individuals who are very troubled psychologically. For
reasons known to medical health professionals,
sometimes these persons eventually "turn against"
their counselors.

Bishops need to keep this in mind when hearing
complaints made against priests.

And all of us should be aware of that too.
