US public opposes federal funding for embryonic
research 

Washington, May. 17 (CWNews.com) - Most Americans
oppose federal funding of embryonic stem-cell
research, according to a poll commissioned by the US
bishops' conference. 

In a survey conducted by International Communications
Research, 52 percent of respondents indicated that
they would oppose taxpayer funding for research on
human embryos, while only 36 percent would support it.
