Hi
Thanks ... and yes, the name calling is something I am more than used to.
It still gets my blood pressure up, but I try to take such opportunities to
use that energy to get some message out ... and I wanted to blog on the
amount of back stabbing and bickering I've seen about each others' heresies
in ways that amount to hellfire for ridiculous things like singing things
other than psalms, which has made me understand the mockery of Christianity
I've seen from non-Christians. People feel Christians have judged them as
damned, and all the while the same Christians are judging each other as
damned for petty things. People complain about the hypocrisy in
Christianity ... it needs to be shown up for what it is - not real
Christianity.
It reminds me of a rather unpleasant experience I had at the hospital I work
at ... I went to the chapel to pray one lunch time, and the chapel was
empty, except for one guy who came in after a while. He saw I had a rosary,
and interrupted my praying to tell me that his pastor was an ex-Catholic and
knows that we worship Mary as God and worship bread and believe in magical
powers in this bread and don't believe the Bible, and that I should believe
the Bible and be saved and believe in Jesus instead of the Pope. He knew so
much more about Catholicism than I did, so he thought, that in the end the
only way to end it was to leave. His looks each time we pass in the
hospital make me feel judged, and I really dislike that.
In what way would you say the statement could be fine tuned? (No, I'm not
taking offence ... I'm just curious.)
Nearly 4am ... I'm off to bed.
God bless,
Stephen
