[Apologetics] Abortion industry is "dancing in celebration" over Senate defeat 54-45 pro-life amendment

Attached is a message about the latest issue of my online newsletters,
including the one on Christian Values, which relates to federal funding
of abortion-on-demand in the Obamacare Bill and whether or not
"pro-life" Democrats can be counted on to stand firm in the face of
intense pressures from within their party.

Senate Democratic "compromise" on Obamacare indicating that the details
are still murky.

Mike Huckabee says the "big tent" concept for the GOP would "kill the
conservative movement."  He says it is "vital the conservative message
not get watered down."

Former Governor Huckabee's chances of winning the Republican
presidential nomination dropped to near zero after it was revealed he
had commuted the sentence of the man who killed four police officers in
Washington state.  Victims and prosecutors in Arkansas had objected to
the clemency.

The Gallup Poll has President Obama's rating at 47%, while Rasmussen
Reports has it at 48%.  Only 29% strongly approve of the job he is
doing.

For the 24th week in a row, the GOP leads nationally in races for
Congress.  New polls find Republican candidates ahead in statewide races
in Connecticut, Arkansas, Ohio, and South Carolina.

Benefits:

Details are still murky regarding the new Senate Democratic compromise
on Obamacare.  The tentative deal is only a concept and no legislation
has been drafted.

Many senators--including some who were part of the negotiations--do not
know what it does.  Even the number two Democrat in the Senate admitted
there were "legitimate and serious questions being raised."

The new proposal has drawn opposition from the left and the right.
MoveOn.org and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce both blasted the compromise.

One Catholic leader says "the abortion industry is dancing in
celebration" over the defeat in the Senate of a pro-life amendment.  The
vote was 54-45 to table (kill) the amendment.

Two Republicans voted to kill the pro-life amendment, while seven
Democrats voted against it.  Every other GOP senator supported the
amendment and every other Democrat opposed it.

If the seven Democrats oppose Obamacare without a pro-life amendment,
the bill cannot pass.  But most--if not all--of the "pro-life" Democrats
are expected to vote for Obamacare with its federal funding of abortion.
