The mood at the recent meeting of the Democratic National Committee was despondent, but Nancy Pelosi and President Obama remain optimistic.  In the midst of the worst winter weather ever to hit Washington, D.C., Obama proposed to create a new office on Global Warming.
Polls show disapproval of Obama's performance in office.  Republicans would likely win control of Congress if elections were held right now.
The economy is rated the most important issue facing the nation and the GOP is favored over the Democrats to solve the problems.  Republicans are also trusted more than Democrats on national security, Iraq, health care, education, immigration, Social Security, taxes, and abortion.
State polls show the GOP ahead in Senate races in Missouri, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, and Wisconsin and governor's races in Michigan and Ohio.  Democrats lead for governor in Colorado and, depending on the outcome of the primaries, Nevada.

While Americans oppose Obamacare 58% to 39%, President Obama and the Democrats are obsessed with trying to pass it.  Republicans and independents strongly oppose Obamacare, but 72% of Democrats like it.
Speaker Pelosi tries to explain Scott Brown's election was because Massachusetts voters objected to the taxes in the Senate version.  "We don't have that in our House bill, so we don't have to defend that position."
GOP leaders in Congress suspect President Obama is trying to use them for a media event during the February 25 meeting on health care.  But Dick Morris says Republicans should go "with concrete and well-articulated proposals."

The federal judge presiding in the suit filed by homosexuals seeking to overturn Proposition 8, the state constitutional amendment on marriage, has been "outed" as a homosexual by the San Francisco Chronicle.  U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker has been praised by prominent homosexuals, while the lawyer defending Proposition 8 says that he has treated the pro-family side poorly during the trial.
National Review Online says Walker has tried to turn the case "into a high-profile, culture-transforming, history-making, Scopes-style show trial."  His procedural rulings have been so outrageous, they have been overturned by both the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Tim Tebow "pro-life" commercial during the Super Bowl was very mild and never mentioned abortion.  But the "pro-choice" rights organizations that tried to prevent it from being shown were exposed as actually pro-abortion.
