Good news of all kinds!
Dear Mr. Kelly,First, Phil Lawler explains that, as far as the Synod goes, those who wish to change the Faith have lost: The Synod's liberal cabal in damage-control mode. Of course, I did tell everyone this would be the outcome back on October 6th before it happened, but I mentioned that in a previous message. This week I try to explain the important shift that has been taking place: Indissolubility as liberation: From accommodation to evangelization on marriage. Thinking partly of the small number of self-proclaimed prophets of change at the Synod, I penned this brief reflection (with a little help): There's prophetic witness…and then there's not. More good news for the Church is that the severe “scholarly” separation of Scripture from faith and theology is at last coming to an end. See my review: Overcoming bad habits: Reuniting Scripture with theology and faith. Meanwhile, Jennifer Gregory Miller has already moved on: Taking Stock: Advent Wreath and Candles. She knows that the Liturgical Year waits for no man! Other Good News First, I explained in a message yesterday that our new design—optimized for mobile devices— is about to be released. A reminder to expect it over the weekend. Second, as I've also explained in separate messages, we have a huge opportunity in the $60,000 challenge grant that has been offered to match donations from our users so that we can meet expenses this year.
