Dear Gathnetters,
This has been a very busy week here at Pilgrim Rest. Most of the time
was spent on medical things. On monday, I started the first of several
tests to see if I "qualify" for a drug test on bone loss. The anti
cancer drug I take may have an other side effect of causing bone mass
loss. The first test was a special Xray device to look at the mass of
the bone. (It was rather interesting as you could see your spine and
hips in quite good detail.) Tuesday, was work around the yard day. On
Wens., Anne went for another abulation prodeedure on her heart. From
all indication at the present, her heart is now ticking properly. We go
to the docs next Monday to make sure things are Ok.

Today, was the first time I have had a garderner helping me to cut
weeds etc. Many of our neighbors are providing yard work for Tomaz and
so I joined the bandwagon. He is a very nice man and somehow with his
limited English and my limited Spanish, together with a lot sign
language, we seemed to communicate pretty well. (He has a green card!)
I even learned a valuable lesson on dragging large piles of brush using
a rope attached to the tractor. It saves a lot of time of using the
pitch fork lifiting the brush on the trailor and when I reach the big
brush pile, we had to unload it again.

Tomorrow, I go in for a bone scan.

I am sorry this sounds like an old persons discription of medical ills.
Unfortunately when you get to this age, these things take up a lot of
your time.

Love,

der altgrossvater
