Dear Gathnetters,
I am very sorry I haven't written for so long. We have been very busy with lots of visitors etc. etc. Its been lots of fun and I am very glad to be alive to enjoy them. So much for the excuses.
Thanks to Stuard David, Nate (my grandson) and Beth, I now have a good network and wireless system in my house. Nate had to crawl under the house from my study to the library and to the end guest bedroom. It was very cramped and hot as he had to wear protection from spiders etc. We could communicate with eachother with little walkie talkies. I am afraid if I tried to crawl into those spaces, I would pull a Pooh Bear trick (when he snuck into rabbits house and ate all the honey and then was too fat to get out!) Now all the living parts of the house are interconnected and have access to the web. I am now sitting out on the back deck just after sundown and am enjoying the cool breezes and beautiful sites of the mountain in front of me. The clouds are a brilliant Pink Orange reflecting the sunset over the Ocean and it gives this warm hue to the whole mountain view. I have my new wireless 54g laptop on my lap and am running on batteries while I write this letter. Who would have though this would be possible 10 years ago!!!
I am also able to listen to webcasts or mp3 files on any of the computers that are working on the web. What luxury!
I even do my devotions on this little thing as it has many translations of the Bible and lots of references available on a click of a mouse. I can even communicate with Jim Eli somewhere in the North Pacific on the USS Paul Hamilton via email!
We enjoyed having Stuart David, Julie, Mindy, Elisa, Laura Beth and Gail for a good visit. This old house hasn't been so lively since I don't know when.
We are both doing OK. Anne loves puttering in the yard about the house and I have been cutting weeds and trying to keep up with repairs etc.
Well, there are a lot of little things to talk about but nothing of great interest so I will close for now.
Love, der Alt Grossvater
