The Jerusalem Prayer List - Thursday, July 06, 2006

Israel is at war again.  From day to day we are getting deeper and deeper into this swamp that is called Gaza Strip.  Just a few months ago, Israel pulled out of Gaza.  Settlements were dismantled, people were taken out of their homes, gardens were trampled, businesses lost, Synagogues were bulldozed, and the Israel army pulled back to the international boarder.  The hope was the now after this withdrawal the citizens of Gaza will be able to develop a peaceful life style, work for the unemployed, prosperity for the poor, just a general life style improvement for all of Gaza would happen.  The idea was that now that the citizens of Gaza have their territory and the Israeli army and settlers are not there they will be able to concentrate on positive things that will build up their ability to have a self governing state that cares for its citizens.  In reality what happened is exactly the opposite.  The Hamas terrorists had a victory in the elections, they built their own militias and basically started an almost civil war that splintered all the factions and one of these small splintered group from the Hamas kidnapped an Israeli soldier named Gilad Shalit and this kidnapping forced the Israeli army to enter Gaza again, capture territory from which Qusam rockets are being launched against the city of Shederoth and against Ashkelon.  Israel is restraining itself by the recommendation of the International community.  This gives the terrorists in Gaza time to get organized, armed, build defenses, and speak lies to the International press.  In short Israel is acting like the United States Government did in the early 1970’s during the Vietnam War.  We are fighting a war that we are afraid to win!  We are fighting a war with people who have a totally different value system and we hope that they will be happy and appreciative that we don’t have their value system.  NO, I believe that Israel like the United States and Great Britain ought to take a clear stand and draw a red line in the sand, and if they cross that red line Israel should do what it promised to do and remove any restraint keeping as much as any army the collateral damage to a minimum, but stop the shooting of rockets against our citizens.    PLEASE PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL GIVE GOOD SENSE TO BOTH ISRAEL AND THE PALESTINIAN LEADERSHIP.  PRAY THAT THE TERRORISTS WILL SEE THE LIGHT AND RETURN GILAD SHALIT SAFELY HOME.  PRAY THAT THE TERRORISTS WILL STOP SHOOTING ROCKETS AGAINST CIVILIAN AND PEACEFUL CITIZENS.

The second major prayer request is for our daughter Danah and granddaughter Noaam.  I can’t go into details at this time but the situation there is still very complicated and the final divorce has not yet been signed by both sides.  The Shulam family really does need a divine intervention a type of deliverance from this situation.  Just mention in your prayer Danah and Noaam and pray for protection, for wisdom, for a righteous judgment, and strength and good health for these two fine Godly mother and child.

Kol HaYeshua Radio broadcasts are going on strong and we do have good responses.  Sunday I had a long phone conversation with Haya Singer - one of our regular listeners from the city of Nahariah in the Northern Israel.  She was so full of praise and appreciation for all the programs that are being broadcast by Kol HaYeshua.  She had some very good questions from the Word of God and also called to ask for prayer because she feels so alone in her city since there is not much in the way of fellowship here.  Kol HaYeshua is reaching so many people all through the country and even into Jordan - where there are some Israeli Arabs who have married Jordanians and Palestinians who are living in Jordan right now.  For these Kol HaYeshua is their only source of fellowship and connection with a Christ believing community because they have married Muslims and they can not fellowship in public.  Please pray for the seed that is being spread far and wide through the preaching of God’s Word in Kol HaYeshua Radio Broadcasts.

We urge you to continue praying for the sick among us.  The same list that was sent last week is still valid and we regret to say that we have not seen any miracle of healing take place in the last weeks.  We keep praying and begging God to heal the sick among us, and our friends in Japan, the United States, Brazil, Finland, and of course Israel.  We are just going to continue knocking on God’s door and keep on knocking, knowing that He is hearing us and will answer us.  Our faith is not weak and our resolve to keep praying for those who are sick and ill and in pain among us will not diminish until we see the Hand of the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, shine healing upon our sick.

I have one more major request for prayer.  Please pray that the Lord will stop the “gay pride march in Jerusalem next week.”  -  The “gay pride” parade has been going on in Tel-Aviv for some years now.  It is a demonstration of human depravity, sexual immorality, and sinful extravaganza, no mater where on God’s Earth it is held, but to insist to hold such a debauchery in Jerusalem is a total outrage.  This is one case in which the leadership of the three monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, have joined forces and have requested city hall of Jerusalem to put a stop to this demonstration of sin and immorality.  The supreme-court of Israel has approved the march on the grounds of “freedom of expression” – but this decision has ignored the fact that the majority of the citizens of Jerusalem don’t want this march to take place in this city that is considered holy to all God fearing people from all three religions.  The only thing left to do is to pray against this march and to have God show His power to stop the total defilement of the City of the Great King.

There is a city wide plan among all the Jewish Disciples of Yeshua in this city to pray and fast between the 10th to the 12th of this month and beg God to stop this “gay pride” march in the city of Jerusalem.
