The Jerusalem Prayer List - Thursday, July 05, 2007

May people ask me  how is it to be a Jewish Disciple of Yeshua in the land of Israel today?  The question is right and on time. Here are some considerations that need to be taken before such a
question is answe.  
Things to remember:
1.	Yeshua is Jewish. He is a son of Abraham by flesh and by faith. He is a son of David, and not only the Son of God.
2.	The New Testament is a Jewish Book. It deals with the people of Israel, with the Land of Israel, and with the faith of Israel. The Gospels are all set on the stage of Israels history.  
3.	God has never rejected the Jewish people from being His Elect people based on the faith of Abraham, and His promises to the Prophets.
4.	By believing that Yeshua is the King of the Jews and the Messiah of Israel a person does not become a non-Jew. One does not stop being a Jew by believing that another Jew is the Son of God.

The problems between the church and the synagogue and how they influence the situation of Jewish Disciples of Yeshua in Israel today!
1.	Many years of persecution and hate mongered by the Christian churches against Jews have caused most Jews to hate Jesus and to reject anyone and anything to do with Jesus, the church, or
Christianity.
2.	 Jews who have believed in Jesus traditionally have left the Jewish Community and have joined the Christian denominations and have basically lost any contact or relationship with Jews. They have
assimilated and cut off their Jewish ancestry and roots. 
3.	Jewish Disciples of Yeshua in the Land of Israel today suffer persecution from Anti-Missionary Orthodox Jewish Organizations because it is the concept of most religious Jews that anyone who
believes that Yeshua is the Messiah hates Jews, hates Torah, and worships idols.

When all of the above is taken into consideration it is easier to see what one has to go through as a disciple of Yeshua in this land today, and it can even be explained and understood with deep
regret.

1.	To be a Jewish Disciple of Yeshua in Israel today is to be considered on the fringe of society. You are considered persona-non-gratta rights from the start until you are able to break the glass
ceiling and prove yourself to be a 
mench
 and a worthy person.
2.	In most social circles a Jewish Disciple of Yeshua will find himself rejected or at least looked upon in an unfavorable light. 
3.	People will accuse you with every evil that Christianity has perpetrated against Jews in history as if you were there marching with a fiery cross chanting anti-Semitic hymns and lynching Jews
yourself.  
4.	There are places of work and positions that you could never attain if people knew that you believe that Yeshua is the Messiah.
5.	If you were known to be a Jewish Disciple of Yeshua in the United States or other countries and you were reported to the Israeli immigration authorities you would have a very hard time to immigrate
to Israel even if you are a Jew from both sides of your family, and even if your grandfather was the chief Rabbi of Brooklyn, N.Y., and even if you were totally practicing an Orthodox Jewish life
style. Israel is a democracy in all things, but on equal opportunity civil rights when it comes to Jewish Disciples of Yeshua.  

We need your prayers. In the last twenty years there has been a great progress in Israel and the number of Jewish Disciples of Yeshua. So many Jewish Disciples of Yeshua have changed their life style
and became much more traditional and observant of Jewish life style. The number of congregations of Jewish believers has increased and many have purchased Torah Scrolls and started to read the Torah
on Shabbat, and to encourage their members to a life like the Disciples of Yeshua in the book of Acts chapter 21:20, that is 100% Disciples of Yeshua and 100% zealous for the Torah. The fear that many
Israeli Disciples of Yeshua had from the Yad LeAchim and other Orthodox Jewish organizations is a whole lot less today than it was 20 years ago, and the style of their harassment is very
different. The difference today is that we are much more organized much more visible and much better known than we were 20 years ago. The public opinion in Israel is now not totally negative about
us. The average Israeli likes us at times much more than he might like the Ultra-Orthodox Jews and those who harass us. We need your prayer and your support in order to receive from the Lord God of
Israel the strength and the perseverance to keep going, living, and blessing Israel and the Jewish nation. We have no intention to convert Jews to become some kind of Protestant Christians or members
of some Church denomination. Our hope and prayer is that all Israel will be saved the way the Word of God promises. Our hope is that Yeshua will come back into the heart of the Jewish people and that
we could interpret and present Yeshua to Israel in the very light that He came to shine into our hearts from the very beginning.  

I ask you to pray for Annie  she is a wife and a mother who has a second bout with cancer. Annie needs healing and strength.  

Keep praying for Ruby. Keep Oren in your prayers. Oren has A.L.S.  he is a new believer in New York City and He is coping with his disability by faith in God. Your prayers for these two people might
be the most powerful demonstration of your faith in God and invocation of His healing power.

I ask you to pray for Marcia my wife. She has been taken off all her medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis. So, she has to cope with the R.A. pain in most of her joints with only once or twice per day
Tylenol. So, Marcia continues to need our prayers for healing, strength, long-suffering, and Gods Grace.  

Please pray for the bureaucratic process in Israel to work with a kind of prophetic justice.   

Please keep praying for Danah and Noaam!

I will keep this letter short and just ask you to continue your prayer for us and for all of Israel.

Please pray for the Crypto-Christians in Portugal. We are planning to take a small group of four men to go to Portugal and discover those Crypto-Christians and share with them the restoration process
and challenge. We want to show these people and villages that it is possible to be 100% Jewish and 100% a faithful disciple of Yeshua and that they dont have to hide their Jewish identity any longer.
