The Jerusalem Prayer List - Thursday, June 21, 2007
 By Joseph Shulam
The Torah speaks of Justice!  There an impression that the New Testament speaks of Love!  One could easily be cynical and say where in the Torah observant communities do you see Justice?  The other
could also be cynical and say where in the Christian Communities do you see love?  The Torah does speak of Justice and so do the prophets of Israel.  Here are a few examples of what the Torah teaches
about justice:Lev. 19:15.
You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.
Deut. 1:16.

Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, `Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him.
Deut. 16:18.
You
shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.
Deut. 16:20,
You shall follow
what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
 Deut. 25:1,
If there is a dispute between men, and they come to court, that the judges may
judge them, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.

Especially important in our context is Deuteronomy 16:20 as it is translated by the New American Standard Bible:
Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land
which the LORD your God is giving you.
I would like for you to note that the issue of justice is also an issue of our right to live in the land that God has given us.   The Torah and the Prophets
of Israel are directly commanding us to have judges who are just and who would justify the righteous and condemn the wicked.  The values of justice and righteousness are essential characteristics of
God Himself and that is why a community is ordered to have judges that will judge justly and do justice.  A community or a system that does not respect the standards of justice and truth and
condemnation for the wicked and deceitful will not last long and will not prosper.

We had a legal hearing by the Regional Council concerning the building permit that we have been requesting for some years.  It was an interesting meeting.  The Orthodox brought about 35 people with
them, there were women and children, famous Rabbis, and a few Orthodox Jews from the neighborhood.  Each one of these fine people spoke strongly and painted the Jewish Disciples of Yeshua as monsters
and soul snatchers.  We were painted as spiritual terrorists because we want to grow and increase our ministry by enlarging our building and making it more efficient and more beautiful.  The hearing
lasted more than three hours.  The Committee Members were wonderful and heard every one with great patients and a kind attitude.  We were so impressed with the work of the Committee and we hope that
these good men and women will actually look far beyond the issue of Netivyah and see that our civil rights and democratic process is in a way a micro-cosmos of the rights of all Jews in every country
and in fact our God given right to live in this land.

Please pray for Israel to live up to the standards of the Torah and to the Word of God so that we can live in this land prosper and see Gods peace reign over us.  We have full trust in the legal
system and court houses of the State of Israel.  We know that in the end we shall see victory and improve our building.  It might take going to the top authorities of justice system of the State of
Israel, but we know that there is a righteous judge who is looking over us.  False accusations and gross exaggerations of who we are and what we are doing can not stop the truth or stop us from
seeking what is just and good for Israel and for the Jewish people world wide.  Your prayers and your support will be greatly appreciated at this time.

Marcia is back home, Praise the Lord!  She arrived this morning and immediately we have a wedding to go to this evening, and in the morning we helped a family from the United States to do a
Bar-Mitzvah for their son.  It was so hot outside by the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) that the boy just about fainted and got so emotional and tired that he could barely finish the reading from the
Torah and in fact could not pick up the Torah for the end of the service.  Our lives are busy, busy, busy, but we know that we are doing only good for Israel and for the Kingdom of God.  The Orthodox
Jewish Organizations think that we are here to damage and destroy Jewish Souls by making them none Jewish and converting them to Christianity.  They dont understand that we are not interested in all
the Christianity that was made in Europe or the United States.  They dont understand that we are not interested in being Protestant or Pentecostal in any way.  We are interested in bringing the Glory
of Israel back home to the land of our forefathers and to the hearts of Israel.  We are not in competition with the Synagogue or with Judaism.  We want to restore the faith and life of Israel that
existed here in the city of Jerusalem before the Temple was destroyed when Yeshua and His disciples walked the streets of this city.  A major mistake was made in the first century by the unrighteous
leaders of the royal house of Herod the Great who handed Yeshua to the Romans we want to fix this unrighteousness and restore the dignity and honor and rightful place of Yeshua the King of the Jews
into the heart of Israel.  Please keep us in your prayers and bless the legal system and court houses of Israel.

WE are going to have a very busy summer.  We have weddings, Bar-Mizvahs, seminars, guests, and all the normal activities of Netivyah and our congregation.  WE will need your prayer for the success and
blessing on all our work.

We have to keep praying for our sick and elderly.  Please pray for Ahuva, Lea, Liora, Sarit, Sare, Zvi, and the younger Zvi who has a hard case of Asthma, and also keep praying for Marcia.

Danahs court hearing that was scheduled for June 18th has again been pushed to another date and now it is scheduled in August.  It is impossible to have a legal system of justice that has such a
thing as
no fault
 divorce and
no fault
justice.  In every case there is a party that is guiltier more sinful and more abusive than the other there is a case of the righteous and the unrighteous.
Justice system in the whole Western World is based on the Ten Commandments that God gave Israel on Mt. Sinai.  The principles of the Ten Commandments are ignored and in fact even the statues of the
Ten Commandments are taken out of the court houses just like the prayer was taken out of the schools and the churches and synagogues are keeping silent.  Some one ought to stand up and let his voice
be heard speaking the Word of God.

My prayer is with you and for all of you who are praying for the Peace of Jerusalem and supporting the Good and Good News that is being done here among the Sons of Abraham.
