The Jerusalem Prayer List - Thursday, June 28, 2007

The Summer has come to Israel if full force.  The temperature has been very high all over the country.  Jerusalem was even much warmer than Tel-Aviv by several degrees, but the humidity in Tel-Aviv is
very high.  I have been teaching in Finland from the book of Ecclesiastes and  I suppose that we should all remember that the time is also in the hands of the Lord and there is a time for every
season.  In our lives too there is a time for every season and not all the seasons are Spring there are times that rain must fall, and other times that we will be parched by the Sun.  In our Jerusalem
congregation we had a wonderful wedding of a brother that is 50 years old and finally found love.  He married a fine lady who is also of the same age and they are both so happy.  They can both say

hallo to happiness and good bye to loneliness
 at 50+, and for all of us it ought to remind us that for each there is a time set by God and we ought to grab God's time.  Even Yeshua knew that there
is a time set for him to go up to Jerusalem.   Going up to Jerusalem at any other time would not 
get the job done
 and nothing would happen, but going up to Jerusalem 
when His hour had come,
  was
His most fateful appointment in Human History.  For me this lesson is a very hard one to learn.  I confess that my 
Savlanut
 is very short  and the Hebrew word 
Savlanut
 comes from the root 
Sevel

= 
to suffer
 - like the word 
Patience,
  that comes from the word that means to 
suffer
 in Latin and it is the same root word as 
passion.
  So, we need to wait for the times and the seasons of the
Lord and for this waiting we need 
Savlanut
 - 
Patience
 and the strength to be able to 
suffer
 it through.  
 
Here are some of the prayer needs that we have:
1.	We have several Orthodox Jews with whom we are having some very serious and interesting conversations about the Messiahship of Yeshua.  This is some very important challenge because there are
several souls in the balance in this case.  So many Christians and so called Messianic Jews never learn to give an answer for the faith that is in them and at least not a rational answer.  The Bible
Schools and Christian Universities and Seminaries teach very little if any polemics.  If they teach polemics and apologetics at all it is usually dealing with Atheism and not with either Jewish or
Muslim issues.  Our Jewish brothers and sisters from the Orthodox camp learn anti-Jesus polemics and Jewish apologetics from an early age and they are good at it.  Please pray that the Lord will
sharpen the Word of God in us that it shall be a sword of gentle and at the same time sharp to penetrate the logic and the heart of our sparing partners.
2.	We have started a very interesting Wednesday evening study of the Talmud with Dr. Tsvika from our congregation.  We first believed that we would have only a handful of students and in fact we would
have been satisfied with four or five students, but the interest that this class generated is amazing and we have had students that drove from the Jordan Valley to come and attend this class.  
Christians might ask why do Jewish Disciples of Yeshua want to study Talmud (Rabbinical collection of writings and discussions dating from the first century B.C. - all the way to the forth century
A.D.).  The answer is simple  if we want to understand our heritage and the heritage of the New Testament Writers we must understand their world, their way of thinking, their concerns.  The Talmud is
a collection of discussions that captures the ideas, the way of thinking and the Jewish world of the First Century and beyond.  Please lift up this class and Dr. Tsivka in your prayers so that our men
and men from other congregations in Israel might be enriched and be blessed by learning to think more like First Century Jewish thinking.  
3.	I received news that a dear friend of Israel in Chile had a bad car accident and is in the hospital. Please pray for Juan Calderon.  Mention this name before the Lord and ask for healing. 
4.	I also received word that F.H. Gates father went to be with the Lord.  F.H. Is a dear brother from Belo-Horizonte, Brazil.  Please pray that the good Lord will comfort and strengthen the faith of
the whole family.  
5.	Our brother Marcelo is now in Chile by invitation of several churches to teach about the Restoration of the First Century Church.  Please keep Marcelo in your prayers and ask God to bless his
teaching and his health and to prosper his calling into this ministry.
6.	Please begin to pray for four of us who are planning to go to Portugal in August and speak to many

 are those Jews who have been forced by the Catholic Church to convert to Christianity
between the 13 - 18th centuries. They were the victims of the Spanish and Portuguese inquisition.  On the outside these 
new Christians
 were Catholic and hidden in their basements they were and in
fact still are practicing Jews.  Over the years they have lost the connection to the Jewish Community and have in fact lost much of both faiths to just keep the shell of tradition.  We want to go to
Portugal and speak to these people the Good News  that a person can be 100% faithful to his national heritage and also 100% faithful to the Messiah of Israel and the World, Yeshua of Nazareth.  We
want to tell these dear people that they don't have to accept the history and teaching of Christiandom but they have to accept what that Galilean Jew did and taught  the Gospel of their salvation. 
Four of us will be going on this trip and we hope to bring a blessing to these communities in Portugal. Please keep us in your prayers and bless us to be ble to make this trip successfully.  
7.	Please pray for Jimmy and Hava our dear friends who are on their way to Israel next week. They are coming in order to help us organize and make our life and work more efficient. Jimmy and Hava have
been our close friends for many years and Jimmy is a kind of expert on organization and administration.  We need his expertise and knowledge to make us more effective and efficient in the Lord's Work.
 
8.	We have a praise report  our dear brother and sister Rosenblit have a seven pound new baby girl.  The Rosenblit family is planning to come and work with us in Netivyah by the end of September when
this baby is old enough to travel.  We lift them up in prayer and bless the Lord for the birth of their new daughter.  
9.	We ask you to please continue to pray for those of our brothers and sisters who are sick:
10.	Please lift up in your prayers the Marianenko family  both parents are coping with cancer and with chemo and radiation at this time.   
11.	Sarit has a very hard time walking. 
12.	Marcia is still off all her medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis and that means that the only thing she can take for the pain is Tylenol. Well in comparison to the big guns that she took for pain 
Tylenol is like a fly in front of an elephant.  She needs your prayers during this season and your prayers ought to be for a total healing by the Lord.
13.	Ruby is not finding any relief for her pain.  She has been suffering in Oklahoma City for a long time and we will keep praying for the Lord to hear her prayers and our prayers for her and heal
her.
14.	We pray for Yitzhak  who has had a retina detachment and can't really see enough to work or read.  We ask the Lord for the healing of this brother!
15.	We want you to pray for all the 
kids
 of Netivyah who are in the military right now.  We have several 
kids
 in active duty in all the branches of the military and they need the Good Lord's
protection.  We pray that the God of Israel does not slumber or sleep, but we want Him to protect and guard our children and all the children of Israel who are protecting our boarders and guarding our
lives.  
16.	Please keep Danah and Noaam in your prayers.  Nothing is new there it is still the same-old-same-old stuff that is unpleasant and just totally annoying.  
17.	Please keep our case before the city of Jerusalem in your prayers too.  We have to face the lies and the manipulative action of the Orthodox Organization Yad LeAchim, and we understand the anger
of the Jewish Community against Christiandom, but they don't understand that we are not interested in bringing Christiano-Paganism to the Jewish people. We are interested to bring Yeshua back home to
His rightful place in our History and heart.  
 
We bless you and yours and ask the Good Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to be with you and comfort you and prosper all your ways.
