Nutrition and hydration is NOT life support. From the e-mails it seems that we all agree on that.
If anyone does think it is life support then think about this:
The next time you take a drink or a bite of food, you are administering life support.
Can a mother or father decide not to feed a child because they don't believe in life support?
Can mental health centers decide not to provide someone to help feed those who are incapable of feeding themselves?
Breathing is accomplished by the involuntary muscles of the body. It is impossible for someone to hold their breath long enough to die. If your body cannot do it for itself you need a machine to provide artificial support to sustain life.
Eating is a choice you voluntarily make for yourself. This is not something the body can provide for itself. Nutrition must always be provided, by some means separate from the body, to sustain life. Therefore, whenever nutrition is withheld it is murder!
When are the courts going to get it? When are they going to quit running amok and start using common sense in conjunction with the laws? It seems that our courts are the modern day Pharisees - obeying the letter of the law with no regard for the spirit of the law.

Like a deer that longs for running waters so my soul longs for you, O God.
